When LBO France was formed in 1985,
it was one of France's very first private equity
funds. The company, which is independently owned,
seeks out leveraged buyout transactions in which
it can generally acquire a majority stake.
Over the years, LBO France has invested in 83 companies, representing a total enterprise value of €15bn.
LBO France mainly targets French firms or companies with their management in France.
The various funds that LBO France
operates are not specialized in any given sector
but are open to a broad spectrum of transactions
from €10m to over € 2.5bn in enterprise value.

France has led some of most impressive deals in
the history of French private equity, including LBOs on such companies as Actaris, Nexity, Materis, Terreal, Wheelabrator, Cegelec and more recently Consolis.
